J Nanostruct, 2016; 6(4): 285-292. DOI: 10.22052/ jns.2016.34330 The present work focuses on preparation and characterization of erythromycin loaded gelatin nanoparticles through nanoprecipitation method. The procedure consists of the addition of the aqueous gelatin solution to the non-solvent phase containing Lutherol F127. Three different measures of cross-linker and polymer concentration were also examined, and the optimum concentration was found. The morphology of gelatin nanoparticles was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscope. It was shown that the optimal morphology can be achieved at the concentration of 1.25 wt % of gelatin in aqueous phase by addition of 20 mL of glutaraldehyde 5%, as the crosslinking agent. Nanoparticle wet size determination was carried out using a dynamic light scattering system and found to be approximately 100 nm. Furthermore, Erythromycin release studies proved the suitability of these particles as a drug delivery system, at least in the studied 72 hours interval. As suggested by related measurements, these nanoparticles are good candidates for antibacterial agent release in any possible related application.

متن کاملPLGA Nanospheres Loaded with Autoclaved Leishmania Major (ALM) and CpG-ODN: Preparation and in vitro Characterization
Objective(s) Several antigens, adjuvants and delivery systems have been evaluated for induction of protective immune responses against Leishmaniasis, but most of them have been inefficient. In this study, PLGA nanospheres as antigen delivery system CpG-ODN as an immunoadjuvant for increasing the immune responses against Autoclaved Leishmania major (ALM) were prepared and characterized. Materi...

Objective(s): The purpose of this study was preparation and evaluation of PLGA nanospheres containing the influenza virus and different adjuvants, Quillaja saponin (QS) and CpG-ODN. Materials and Methods: Nanospheres were prepared using the double emulsion-solvent evaporation method. The morphological and physicochemical properties were studied by scanning electron microscopy...
متن کاملGelatin Microspheres for the Controlled Release of All-trans-Retinoic Acid Topical Formulation and Drug Delivery Evaluation
A topical o/w cream containing tretinoin microspheres was prepared. Gelatin microspheres of tretinoin were prepared using coacervation method. These microspheres contained about 50% w/w tretinoin. The particle size range of microspheres was between 90-150 m m. In vitro drug release from microspheres and a cream formulation was studied. It was shown that drug release from microspheres followed H...
متن کاملProduction and Characterization of Gelatine Based Electro-spun Nano-fibres as Burn Wound Dressings
Silver sulfadiazine is used to prevent and treat infections of second- and third-degree burns. It kills a wide variety of bacteria. In this study silver sulfadiazine was used in gelatin based electro-spun nano-fibers with various drug to polymer ratios (0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 %). SEM, EDX and FTIR analysis showed that the continuous, bead-free, fine fibers containing silver sulfadiazine as an anti...
